Humanitarian Aid Mission 2018

NEW YORK. – Friends of Lead Free Children Foundation with the Support of Continental Food and Beverage Inc./Inca Kola USA, completed their annual Humanitarian Aid Mission to the Dominican Republic from March 14th through March 18th 2018.

CF&B/ Inca Kola USA has been working with Steve Null and his foundation for almost 20 years and we are very proud of the work that has been accomplished by Steve with our support. This year we are proud to have brought together a diverse group representing Corporate America, an American University, their student body, health care companies, local chambers of commerce and media. The Coca Cola Company was represented by Mr. Rudy Beserra Sr. Vice President Latin Affairs and his wife Lois Beserra. Mercy College and their medical students were represented by Lenny Caro the Chief Community Relations Officer. Aetna, a fortune 100 company, participated for the second year. One of our newest sponsors United Federation of Teachers was represented by Bonnie Rodriguez. We want to thank our media partners, NY Business Latino for all their support. Locally in the Dominican Republic The Local Coca Cola Company stepped up by sponsoring Lunch on day 2 of our mission and we want to acknowledge and thank Vielka Guzman and Maciel Patin for all their last minute efforts. Our business partners Comercializadora Tribi represented by Miguelina Chalas and Ramon Jansen also joined the group.

The Director of Friends of Lead Free Children, Steve Null, stated that “this year was once again a breakthrough thanks to the talent and support of all the doctors and students that volunteered their time”. “Our Mission was able to conduct 1000 basic health exams for pregnant woman and children as well as distribute the vitamin supplements that have been the corner stone of this mission since 2000”. The mission visited 3 areas in the Island Nation. Nizao a small town to the south of the Capital Santo Domingo. San Pedro de Macoris, where we serviced the Sugar cane field workers, and one of the poorest and toughest neighborhoods in the Capital of Santo Domingo.
We are proud that our business is in a position to offer such help to the poorest communities that have little to no access to regular preventive health care. CF&B/Inca Kola USA has always given back to local communities and this is our way to say thank you to the enormous Dominican community in the United States that supports our brand Inca Kola. The Mission is in honor of The Founders of Inca Kola in the United States, Lourdes and Luis Jardines Del Castillo who were always a part of this mission during their lives and we are proud to carry on their legacy.
